For players in the Philippines, the mines game has become a favourite quick-fire bet. The idea is simple: a grid of covered tiles hides a number of mines; you uncover tiles one by one, each safe tile raises your multiplier, and you can cash out after any of them. MERRYPH’s catalogue lists Mines titles from several studios inside SLOTS, with JILI and JDB the best-known. The skill is not finding tiles, it is choosing the mine count and knowing when to stop.
How a mines game works
- Set the stake.
- Choose the mine count. The game’s setup panel shows the grid size and how many mines you can pick.
- Uncover a tile. Safe tiles push the multiplier up; finding a mine finishes the round and your stake with it.
- Cash out or continue. After every safe tile you choose again.
Mine placement comes from the game’s random number generator. There is no pattern to read from previous rounds.
Why more mines pay more per tile
The multiplier follows the odds. Take an example board of 25 tiles to see why:
| Mines on a 25-tile board | Chance the first pick is safe |
|---|---|
| 1 | 24 in 25 (96%) |
| 3 | 22 in 25 (88%) |
| 5 | 20 in 25 (80%) |
| 10 | 15 in 25 (60%) |
With 3 mines, the second pick is safe 21 times in 24, so two safe picks in a row happen about 77% of the time. Each extra pick multiplies the risk, which is why the multiplier climbs faster with more mines. Check your own game’s grid size on its setup panel; the logic is the same.
Mines titles from JILI and JDB
Both studios list several versions in the slots lane:
- JILI: Mines, Mines Gold, Mines Grand, Mines Cricket and Mines Football.
- JDB: Mines and Mines 2.
Other studios add their own. Fa Chai has a Mines title, Pragmatic Play lists Mines+, and the GM tile carries many variants, including one called Pinoy Mines. The FC studio page for Fa Chai covers its version alongside its fishing games.
If you liked JILI’s plain Mines, try JDB’s Mines 2 next to compare how a second studio sets its multipliers.
When to cash out
A cash-out rule set before the round beats any decision made after a safe tile:
Problem: three safe tiles in, the next multiplier looks too good to skip. Fix: cash out at the pick count you chose. At a ₱20 stake, a 1.5x cash-out returns ₱30; that ₱30 is gone if the fourth tile is a mine.
- Fix the pick target at the start.
- Keep the mine count the same for the session.
- Stop at your round count.
Mines vs crash: same question, different clock
Both formats ask when to take the money. The difference is pace:
| Crash game | Mines game | |
|---|---|---|
| What moves the round on | The multiplier, climbing by itself | Your next tap |
| Time to decide | Seconds | As long as you like between tiles |
| A pre-set exit | An auto-cashout target | A pick count chosen before the round |
If time pressure pushes you into late decisions, mines is the calmer of the two. Crash game timing asks the same cash-out question against a clock, and coin pusher odds explained covers a slower format. The fishing and arcade hub lists the full section.

How to Get Started
-
Set the mine count deliberately
More mines raise the multiplier for each safe pick but make every pick riskier. Choose the count before the round, not halfway through.
-
Decide your number of picks
Choose a target, say three safe tiles, then take the money the moment you get there. The game will always offer one more tile.
-
Cap the rounds
Rounds are short, so set a round count with your stake. Stop when it is done, whatever the last result was.
