Roulette Bets and Odds: Inside, Outside and the Single-Zero Rule

Roulette works on one idea: a ball lands in one numbered pocket, and every bet pays according to how many pockets it covers. Single numbers pay most, red or black least, and the green zero is where the house takes its share. Inside bets sit on the number grid; outside bets sit around it. On a single-zero wheel each of them returns the same 97.30 percent over time, so the choice is about how often you want to win, not how much you lose.

One zero or two: the number that matters

Problem: an American wheel adds a 00 pocket, so 38 pockets share payouts built for 37. The edge jumps from 2.70 to 5.26 percent: ₱5.26 lost per ₱100 instead of ₱2.70. Fix: pick a wheel with one zero. The lobby lists American Roulette on the Evolution, PP, VIVO, MG and PT tiles, so read the table name before sitting down.

French rules go one step further. With La Partage, an even-money bet loses only half when zero lands, which brings that bet to about 1.35 percent.

Lightning Roulette and other multiplier wheels

Lightning Roulette is Evolution’s best-known twist. When the betting window shuts, a bolt marks 1 to 5 Lucky Numbers, and each carries its own 50x to 500x multiplier for straight-up stakes. Any straight-up win on an un-struck number pays 29:1 instead of 35:1, while splits, corners, colours and dozens pay the standard odds.
